Fruitfulness Framework
Measure and improve impact in your Fresh Expression (FXC)
The Fruitfulness Framework is a tool to help leaders measure and improve the health and impact of their Fresh Expression Community.
Instead of just counting ‘bums on seats’, the framework measures the impact of your FXC on the lives of participants. The resulting dashboard enables leaders and communities to celebrate and improve their impact.
Why is measuring the impact of fresh expressions important?

Measure what matters
Instead of just counting ‘outputs’ (such as number of conversions or ‘bums on seats’) the Fruitfulness Framework asks questions about five main dimensions of participants’ lives:
relationship with God,
relationship with self,
relationship with other FXC members,
relationship with the FXC’s vision,
relationship with their local context.
Example graph shows before and after summary scores for each relationship in the framework
Celebrate your impact
Within these five main relationships, the framework measures the changing beliefs, behaviours, and experiences occurring in participant lives. Crucially the framework also measures the extent to which your FXC is responsible for these changes.
Celebrate the depth of your FXC’s impact

The framework also enables you to compare your results with the average for other communities across the UK. This enables leaders to learn where their areas of greatest strength and weaknesses are.
